Pacific Palms Resort Lands Red Hot Restaurant
Upping the Cool Quotient in Industry Hills
Pacific Palms Resort is raising the bar for casual-elegant dining with a new independent dining destination, RED Restaurant & Bar. Opening on May 8, 2008, RED Restaurant is an innovative full-service dining outlet inspired by the warmth and fiery heat associated with the color red. Those dining at RED will enjoy the finest steaks, seafood and a variety of imaginative dishes made from the freshest local and regional ingredients served in an invigorating atmosphere - inside or lakeside.
“We’re thrilled that RED is coming to Pacific Palms,” said VP, Managing Director Bob Nelson. “It’s such a talented team with John Gress, formerly of Maple Drive in Beverly Hills and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Schatzi in Santa Monica running the show. He’s got a great vision for an upscale, fun and sexy restaurant, which is the perfect complement for all of the upgrades and great facilities we have here at LA’s only destination resort.”
RED, located on the grounds of the lush, hilltop Pacific Palms Resort, offers guests, as well as those who live and work in the surrounding area an exciting alternative to the current chain-driven options both for lunch and dinner. It’s a restaurant destined to be embraced by the area’s notables in business, sports and entertainment. The lakeside restaurant with spectacular city and mountain views features five distinct dining areas, each providing a different feel and atmosphere. Inside, dining highlights include a plush, private area with oversized leathered booths, the ‘Cool Bar’ with a magnificent stainless steel pool table, plasma screens, and cobalt blue lighted bar top. Lakeside settings feature outdoor dining and lounge areas with a dramatic stone fire pit overlooking Celebration Lake. In every way, RED takes advantage of its verdant surroundings overlooking Los Angeles’ two top golf courses and the San Gabriel Mountains.
John Gress, who heads up RED said, “I couldn’t be happier that RED found its perfect location at Pacific Palms Resort. The setting is spectacular and we really are in the center of everything with easy access to Downtown LA, the Inland Empire and the San Gabriel Valley. There is such a vast population surrounding us along with dynamic businesses, and I know that this market is hungry for something as hip, sophisticated and cool as RED. The owners of Pacific Palms Resort, Ed Roski and John Semcken, made a wise decision when they chose to bring a restaurant of this quality to the resort.”
Chef Simon Volante presides over the kitchen and has created a menu that includes the finest steaks, 100% corn-fed prime beef, wet aged 28 days. The Seafood at RED is the freshest available offering both shellfish and finfish perfectly cooked and paired with both wines and Sakes from an extensive and well thought out list. The menu aims to pair delectable cuisine with unexpected spirits, such as original martinis, authentic Japanese sake, boutique wines and international lagers.
The design of RED Restaurant & Bar blends fiery and tranquil elements to create a thoroughly modern mood. The color palette combines amber, moss and azure hues. The space is punctuated with contemporary architectural features – a rich mahogany panel ceiling, a soothing blue bar with stainless steel accents. Natural stone pillars anchor the dining room and bar, and panels of art glass define the area. Textural fabrics add comfort and elegance to chairs and banquettes. Pendant lighting and several plasma screens, including televisions integrated into booths, enhance the modern mood of RED.
Set against the majestic San Gabriel Mountains, Pacific Palms Resort is Los Angeles’ only destination golf, spa and conference resort appealing to both leisure and business travelers. The recently renovated resort features 292 beautifully appointed, oversized guest rooms, each with balcony, a variety of food and beverage options including RED, a new, upscale restaurant and bar. The Spa at Pacific Palms recently opened its doors as area’s first luxury, lifestyle spa.
